GivingTuesday – December 1st 2020

“GivingTuesday,” a global movement, is an opportunity to give back to the causes that you care about.  Started in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a special day meant to officially open the “giving season.”  Its aim is  to shift the focus at this time of the year, from buying to giving – focusing on the community.  We invite you to participate.  This year, for the first time, MHE decided to get involved as the needs are great.

In late September, the University of Sherbrooke published the results of a study from seven Quebec regions including Estrie:

  • Quebec levels of depression and anxiety are considerably higher than what was observed pre-pandemic.
  • Young adults, Anglophones, and health care workers are the most heavily affected groups in all seven regions.
  • 37 per cent of adults aged 18-24 reported symptoms of anxiety and depression.
  • Anglophones are twice as likely as their French-speaking counterparts to experience anxiety and depressive symptoms.

You can help by supporting us in our goal of giving more hope and improved mental health to your community. To donate to Mental Health Estrie please click here. Donations can also be made by cheque made out to Mental Health Estrie which you can mail or drop off at our office 3355 College, Sherbrooke J1M 0B8. Thank you!
